Is there an oxygen cylinder available on the Everest Base Camp Trek? 

Yes, an oxygen cylinder is available in EBC Trek, and in a helicopter as well if needed in case of emergency.  For the trekking, to EBC our team will good care of you and in case if necessary, we have a good connection with the owner on this trekking route and will provide you. While you flying oxygen cylinders available on the helicopter but normally you don’t need to use them.

What is the weight limit of the Everest Base Camp Trek and Helicopter tour? 

This EBC trek starts with a flight from Kathmandu by airplane to Lukla, an airplane that has a limit weight of only 15kg in total should be with your day backpack per person which means 10 kg around per person the porter will be carrying (2 trekkers:1 porters, the porter will be carrying 10-12kg per person maximum). For the return back by helicopter tour from Gorakshep weight limit in total will be 500kg,  and the helicopter tour maximum is 5 people. On a helicopter, tour capacity is decided by the weight of the person on your trip. You have to make a 500kg maximum weight limit in your Everest base camp  Helicopter tour. So weight limits is very important. Every helicopter, airplane and Porter has a weight limit. The helicopter tour flight maximum number of 5 people from Kathmandu. Is it possible to land the Helicopter at Everest Base Camp?

Yes, it is possible to land at the Base camp of Everest but only in climbing season and in emergency cases. The rest of the time not possible to land at Base camp. Everest Base Camp is covered with ice and glacier which makes landing difficult and dangerous. The land structure is very weak in the Everest Base camp. Everest Base Camp Trek and Return back By Helicopter Tour Package

Day 1: Fly to Lukla and Trek to Phakding (30 minutes flight and 3hrs Trek) 

Early morning ride to the airport from your hotel by private vehicle then fly to Lukla, it will give you the best views of Everest Himalaya including Mount Everest in front of you. Once you reach Lukla meet your staff for the support of the entire trip. After that, the trek will begin towards Phakding, on a walking day enjoying the green hills, monastery, Hilary School, Sherpa settlements with Dudh Koshi river which is running from Everest Base Camp, and beautiful mountains like Kongde Peak, KushumKangaru, and many more. You walk through Chhoplung, ThadoKoshi, and Ghat, to reach Phakding.

Day 2: Trek to Namche Bazaar (6-7hrs) 

After breakfast, you will start the trek, with beautiful views of the Dudh Koshi river and several green hills with Banker, Chromo village to reach Monjo which headquarters of the Sagarmatha National Park.  Take the permit from here, then trek through river bed to the last suspensions bridge which is called Hilary bridge and this is 2,700m high from the C level until the bridge path is easy to walk then starts climbing  2 hours to Namche, after an hour of this uphill you can see the Mount Everest on right side of the trekking trail. The Namche Bazaar is one of the big towns in the Khumbu region, where you get everything facilities like Bakery café, Wi-fi, liquid Bar, equipment shopping and many more with nice views of  Everest Himalayan peaks. In Namche Bazaar you stay for 2 nights including acclimatization day.

Day 3: Rest in Namche Bazaar for Acclimatization (4 hrs hiking) 

You take a rest in Namche Bazaar for acclimatization, it means visiting the local museum and hiking up to  Everest Panoramic viewpoint, from here you can see the best view of Everest and other beautiful mountains. This is in the high altitude of 3,800 m and it helps a lot for going up, then get back down to have rest and shopping or visit around the market free afternoon.

Day 4: Trek to Tengboche 3,867m (5-6hrs) 

After breakfast pack the bags then be ready for Tengboche, this is one of the best places for the view of sunrise and sunset with the largest Buddhist monastery of the Everest region. You will reach here by 2 or 3  pm and batter to be here before 3 pm because the ceremony starts at 3 until 4 pm for an hour.  Tengboche is located in a hill from where we can see the panoramic view and makes feel do not move just enjoy around.

Day 5: Trek to Dingboche 4,350m (5hrs) 

Early morning wake up for sunrise, we can see the sun rising from the room but from the outside is batter with Mount Everest and other Himalayan peaks. Only 5 hrs for this day but getting higher and higher day by day so that needs to walk very slow it helps for going up. We pass through Diboche, Pangboche, then have lunch in Somare this is such a nice place for the view, the trek continues to Dingboche for overnight. From here we can see the Makalu in the far east which is over 8,000m and another one is small but popular, it is called Island Peak only 6,189 m.

Day 6: Trek to Lobuche 4,900m (5hrs) 

This is much beautiful day getting close to the base camp with the Khumbu glacier and ice. The same schedule works for every day but the short day is today of your trekking, just a 2 hrs trek flat and gradual part with views of Mt Pumori 7,201m Chola Tshe 6,8oo m, Lobuche east 6,400m, Nuptse  7,930m with Khumbu Glacier and river to reach Thukla and have a break here then 1-hour climb up to  Thukla Pass, here you can visit the memorials of summiteers from every country in Everest summit or  Lhotse Summit or Pumori Summit. After this, we touch the Khumbu glacier and walk through beside of this big Khumbu glacier to Lobuche, from here you can see the whole Khumbu glacier and Khumbu  Icefall (just a 20 minutes hike for this view).

Day 7: Trek to Gorakshep and then continue to EBC then back to Gorakshep for an overnight 5,364m (7- 8hrs) 

This is a more exciting day, early morning take breakfast and a 3-hour walk to Gorakshep with views of glaciers, ice-fall, and beautiful mountains; those are pretty close and feel like you can touch and climb.  You will take a break for lunch at Gorakshep even earlier because 3-4 hours of trekking we will be without food we would have snakes but it’s wouldn’t be enough (even light food we eat). Drop the luggage and most of the things at the hotel in Gorakshep then with a small day pack walk to base camp,  while walking to base camp and back only on the glacier and ice. Once you reach the base camp take time to have pictures, and videos and enjoy the view. After that be back the same way to Gorakshep for overnight.

Day 8: Hike to Kalapathar and back to Gorakshep for Breakfast then fly back to Kathmandu by helicopter tour  Early morning hike up to Kalapathar to see the sunrise which is 2 hours up and 1 hour back down, once you reach the top can’t amazing that how nice and beautiful views we get to see! Mount Everest is bigger and closer as well as we can see the mountain which is very far. This is an altitude of 5,545m  above 400m climb from Gorakshep. After enjoying the view be back to the hotel and take breakfast then fly back by helicopter tour.

One-day Everest Base Camp Helicopter Tour with landing time schedule

This one-day adventurous Everest Base Camp and Return Helicopter tour will pick up from Kathmandu airport. From Kathmandu, airport flight takes 45 minutes to Lukla. More or less 10-15 minutes there will  be a break in Lukla. Then after including a landing time to reach Everest Base Camp and Kala Patthar it  may take around 40 minutes. This trek and Helicopter tour is the sharing phase. If you want a private Helicopter for a tour it will be added extra cost for your trip. And if canceled your trip region of the bad climate we will deduct the airport Drop pickup cost from your refundable cost. ($40). The given helicopter tour cost is just for a single or double shuttle. You must think that the total maximum weight for a shuttle is up to 250 kg. And the two shuttles for 500. Kg. (the greatest number of people in a chopper will be 5 pax). If there the total size of people will be more than the weight limit.

We need an extra helicopter to start your trip from Kathmandu, and it will be applied full helicopter cost from Kathmandu. The upper limit of carrying weight limit at Himalaya (More than 4400 m high) will be only 250 kg. if you need more shuttle due to weight management. You have to pay an extra price for one more shuttle (the price will be equally divided by the number of people). For eg. The total number 1  people 5 pax and the average weight of 1 person is 100 kg. for weight management, we required an extra shuttle from Pheriche.
