Starting our adventure from low warm areas of Pokhara and Baglung, then heading higher into high hills and cooler temperature zone within lovely forested areas of tall rhododendron and pines trees, as the walk follows Mygdi River upstream right up to its glacial source at Base Camp of above 4,750 m high beneath towering Dhaulagiri and its ice falls.
From base camp walk leads beyond to cross highest pass of the adventure over French pass with sweeping panorama at the height of 5,360 m high and then walk to scenic Hidden Valley then continue trek over Dhampus / Thapa pass to reach into green tree lines, where downhill route brings you at charming village in Marpha, located on lower Mustang district within Kali-Gandaki River Valley on popular Annapurna Circuit trail and on old Trans Himalayan Salt / Caravan Trade Route of Nepal / Tibet.
After Marpha with easy walk into number of lovely villages heading lower at Tatopani 'Hot Spring' with refreshing time our adventure heads back to scenic Pokhara with a climb to Ghorepani and Poon Hill for stunning sunrise views over chain of Himalayan peaks.

Starting Beyond Dhaulagiri base camp Trekking with morning drive towards Nepal Mid West with grand views of Ganesh-Langtang Himal, as the drive gets closer towards Pokhara catch the views of Manaslu and Annapurna Himalaya with majestic Mt. Machhapuchare known as Fish Tail due to its shape.
After exciting scenic drive reaching at Pokhara a famous and popular touristic spot of Nepal Himalaya, blessed with natural wonders of snow capped peaks, rolling green hills and valley with serene lakes, in Pokhara overnight by the Phewa Lake with ample time for short walks around the lake.

After a wonderful stop in scenic Pokhara, morning drive continues for next few hours to reach Beni town to begin this awesome adventure beyond Dhaulagiri base camp with Hidden valley.
Beni a large town and headquarter of Dhaulagiri and Mygdi district from here few hours’ drive brings at Darbang to starting point of our adventurous trek, overnight in best available local lodge and hotels.
Starting first day walk of this adventure with a climb towards a small ridge passing several farm area and villages and then the walk is gradual walking along the bank of river Mygdi, after a pleasant day walk reaching to camp by the bank of the river for overnight stop, after noon at leisure for a cool splash in the river and short walk around this least visited area.
Morning walk follows river for a while reaching a small rural farm village of Jugepani, for lunch time permitting after 3 hours of nice walks, after a break here a steep climb to a ridge for an hour reaching a ridge and then downhill through forest to Bagar, a small farm village overnight camp by the school yard, this will be the last village or human settlement for a week till it joins at popular Annapurna circuit route at Kaligandaki near Marpha.
Morning leaving farm fields of Bagar village, walk into cool forest for an hour and then a steep climb towards forested ridge of bamboo, oaks and rhododendron trees, looking down at Mygdi River, after ending the climb downhill into dense forest of pines and rhododendron to reach at Dovan for overnight camp by river, Dovan a small temporary place with small teahouse in the midst of a forest surrounding.
From Dovan morning walk leads to cross an unstable wooden bridge over a river confluence of Mygdi River, after crossing back into woodlands for whole day, walking on winding forest path till Chartare also known as Bhainse Kharka, as this area a grazing place for animals.
After a pleasant stop in the middle of forest, morning walk leads closer towards Mt. Dhaulagiri South Face flank, with views of Putha Huinchuli, Manapathi and of Dhaulgiri south flank, after 3 hours walk reaching a glaciated area named as Italian camp, from here leaving the forested and tree lines behind for few days, and then t adventure begins walking on glacier and moraine ,rocky ridge to reach a small grassy spot known as Pakhaban and as well called as Japanese camp, as Japanese expeditions to Dhaulagiri camped on this spot.
This camping offers grand view of Dhaulagiri South West face and Manapathi, Puttha Hiunchuli with rear huge wall face of Tsaurabong Peak.
From this camp between huge bulk of mountains and deep gorge down below where glacier feds source of Mygdi River, walk continues following moraine and iceberg in few places, climb towards base camp requires a team work to find the right good path on this glaciated sections, after a strenuous walk off the glacier area to reach a rocky place and then at Dhaulagiri base camp for overnight, one of the highlight of this adventure.
Camping is pitched on rocky area in the shade of Mt. Dhaulagiri I (8,167 m) and its glacier including Tukuche peak with west peaks of Dhaulagiri II (7,751 m.), Dhaulagiri III (7,715 m.) and Dhaulagiri IV (7,618 m.).
Morning walk heading highest point of the trek at French pass of above 5,360 m high, walk follows on dry glacier with moraines close to Tukuche peak and then heading higher to the top ridge of French Pass which is festooned with Buddhist prayer flags, after enjoying the surrounding views a short downhill walk of few hours reaches to a wide grassy area at hidden valley for overnight camping. This camp offers awesome views of Sita Chuchura, Mukut Himal, and Tashi Kang 5,386 meters, Tukche Peak and Dhaulagiri I.
After a nice rest at Hidden Valley morning a leisure and gradual walk for few hours and then reaching the last pass of this marvelous adventure at Thapa also known as Dhampus pass at 5,250 meters, on reaching the top views of Annapurna Himal with Nilgiris peak towards north east horizon, after enjoying the scenery heading down towards Yak Kharka for overnight camp and back to vegetation of Juniper, Burberry and rhododendron bushes
From this peaceful spot with grand views of Annapurna and Dhaulagiri range of peaks heading into woodland with a big drop of 1,200m downhill to Kaligandaki river valley, where our pleasant walk leads Mustang area within Kaligandaki River valley.
After a long descend reaching at Marpha, one of the most charming villages with white painted houses and neat paved streets, well kept lodges. At Marpha celebrate with local apple products cider, brandy and juice this area from Kagbeni to Larjung is famous for delicious apples.
From Marpha onward, walk is enjoyable following Kaligandaki river downstream with views of Tukuche peak, Dhaulagiri and Mt. Nilgiris walk to Larjung village, after few hours walk getting back into tree lines of pine, oaks and rhododendron forest and then reaching at Kalapani village, another lovely village with grand views of Mt. Annapurna I, Nilgiris and Dhaulagiri, a short downhill brings at Lete village for overnight stop.
Walk from Kalapani and Lete onward leads to dramatic change in vegetation and climate, as walk leads between two giant peaks of Dhaulagiri and the Annapurna forming world deepest gorge. The first two hours of trek leads through Ghasa village with view of snow capped peaks into forest.
After Ghasa a southern end of Mustang area mostly dominated by Thakali people ethnic tribe till Tatopani village.
This pleasant walk continues leading back to paddy fields in warm sub-tropical climate to Tatopani passing beautiful waterfalls of Rupsi. Tatopani (Hot Spring) village the valley is quite constricted and it is quite warm with sub-tropic climate and vegetation, Tatopani is another nice village with large hot spring pools just by the bank of the River Kaligandaki.
After a refreshing time at Tatopani, morning walks leads on winding trail for an hour, our route diverts heading uphill with steep climb then with gradual up all the way through dense forest to reach at Sikha a large Poon / Magar village full of cultivated neat terraces growing wheat, barley and millets, and then walk continues into cool forested areas with farm fields to Chitre village and then an hour climb to Ghorepani village with fantastic views of Mt. Dhaulagiri and Annapurna South with Vara-Shikar known as Annapurna Fang.
Ghorepani famous and popular for hike to Poon Hill a view point offering super wide angle views of world’s three highest peaks and range of other mountains with striking sunrise and sunset.
Morning an hour hike up to Poon-Hill at 3,210m for fabulous sunrise views over array of mountains from Mt. Dhaulagiri, Mt. Manaslu to Annapurna and as far to Ganesh Himal in the far eastern horizon including the Mt. Machhapuchare “The Fish Tail”.
From here walk through lovely rhododendron forest, and then with long descend from Ulleri village to Tirkhedhunga for last overnight stop in the hills of Annapurna Himalaya.
After a overnight at Tirkhedhunga with the sound of marvelous cascading waterfalls, our last day of this great adventure leads you to much warmer areas of rice fields and terraces overlooking magnificent views of massive Himalayan range of mountains, an hour walk downhill to Bhirethati village and at Nayapul on the road head of Baglung-Pokhara, after getting into a vehicles few hour drive brings you beautiful and scenic Pokhara after a great and wonderful time up in the high mountains.
Early morning transfer to bus or other smaller vehicle for scenic and exciting drive to Kathmandu as the morning ride leads towards farm villages and towns and driving along the Marysangdi and Trisuli River toward Mugling Bazaar, and then after an interesting 5-6 hours journey reaching at hustle and bustle of Kathmandu city life.

Last day in Nepal, the land of Himalayan wonders as per your international flight time our staff will transfer you to airport for your flight homeward bound or to respective destination with wonderful experience on Beyond Dhaulagiri base camp Trekking.
This is a high altitude journey where elevation starts from low 800 m to 5,416 m high, where symptoms of AMS (Acute Mountain Sickness) might occur due to dry air and less oxygen, as our adventure starts with overland drive with overnight stops in nice and cozy local lodge, which provides you with acclimatization as well with rest day at Manang before heading much higher altitude.
In this trip one needs to be in good physical shape with sound health to avoid other medical complication on route the journey, just follow our guide advice and suggestion which keeps and makes you feel secure to enjoy this fabulous adventure with us.
Like in all trips and adventure with us we strongly suggest that you obtain Travel and Medical Insurance in case of immediate rescue and emergency evacuation by any means of transportation including swift airlift on Helicopter.
Weather & Climate on Annapurna Semi Circuit Trekking:
The weather depending upon the season of trekking around Annapurna or other higher Himalayan belts, where's Annapurna Circuit trekking can be visited all time of the year, however monsoon months of July to mid September will be wet but much greener with heavy moistures.
The best time will be from March to May when wild flowers are in full bloom around 2,000 m to 3,000 m high and then tree lines and vegetation declines for rough arctic terrain, the temperature will be 15 to 20 degree Celsius during the day with sunlight, morning and evening can be much cooler with minimum of -0 to 05 degree Celsius not counting the wind chill factors.
As the trek leads higher above 4,000 m temperature drops in the shade as well in the morning and night time, day will be clear with strong sunlight and UV (due to drop in oxygen and air pressure on high elevation) , where you need strong sun screen to avoid sun burn in direct sunlight.
Mid September to December will be the clearest weather but with short days minimum of -05 to -10 degree Celsius in the morning and night time with maximum of 15-20 degree during the day in full sunlight, also depends upon the altitude and areas of trekking.
December to March will be the coldest months with chances of snows with minimum of -10 to -15 degree Celsius with maximum 15-18 degree Celsius without wind chill factor, however most of the day time will be clear with fine blue sky.
Important Notes for the Trekking around Annapurna and other Himalaya region:
Main flow of foreign visitors in Nepal is for trekking from moderate to adventurous or challenging treks, the most important is choosing the right trip as per your duration of holiday and fitness, for Annapurna and other Himalayan trekking adventure one needs to be in sound health and physically fit.
On booking with us preparation of fitness required like walking-jogging-Jumba-aerobic at least a month before your departure from home country, and all clients should be prepared with Travel and Medical Insurance (in case for sudden accidents and immediate evacuation by any means of transport available for quick relief to nearest hospitals.
