Trip Overview:

Annapurna region has several trekking routes in Nepal, the Khopra Danda Trek is one of the least explored and incredible trekking destinations in the Annapurna Himalaya. It is located in the southern part of the Annapurna Himalayan ranges. Khopra Danda Trek is often compared to its neighboring destination Ghorepani Poon Hill Trekking. However, regarding high altitude, Khopra Danda rises to an elevation of 3,640 meters whereas Poon hill is located at 3,210 meters.

The Khopra Danda Trek naturally offers better views of Himalayan vistas. It is a beautiful place to observe Mt. Dhaulagiri (8,167 meters), Annapurna I (8,091 meters), Nilgiri (7,061 meters), Bahrashikhar (7,647 meters), Annapurna South (7,219 meters), Annapurna II (7,937 meters) and many more other mountain peaks from a very close distance. It has a concise history of being a trekking destination. Slowly the climb brings you to Ghorepani village and then climb up to Poon Hill for the superb panorama of Himalayan peaks with stunning sunrise views, the areas might be flooded with trekkers, however, this route from here leads you away from the main flow of visitors and trekkers heading into the remote and tranquil country.

A gradual climb brings you to Khopra Danda Trek, the high above Poon Hill in between Dhaulagiri-Nilgiris-Vara-Shikar and Annapurna South peaks, and then our route leads to our highlight at holy Khayer Lake.
This Khayer Lake is located at a high altitude of 4,660 meters. You can spend a day, or more depending on your final destination of trekking. One thing is sure it is a beautiful destination for both nature lovers and adventure seekers.

The trail of Khopra danda Trek is partially moderate and strenuous. With enough preparations for trekking, any new trekker can join for this journey, though. The trail to Khopra leads through dense green forests of pine, oak, rhododendron, and magnolia. In the meantime, you can enjoy the high Himalayan panoramic views from various angles. Moreover, the green terraced farming lands and natural flowers of the lower valleys play a significant role in decorating the trail.

On the route to Khopra Danda Trek, you will see especially the Magar, Chhetri, and Gurung communities who have developed for themselves the identity of successful hospitality providers. You can find the tea houses for some initial days; after that, you have to spend the remaining few days in community lodges while trekking in this region. Staying especially at community lodges on the Khopra ridge trekking trail is a splendid opportunity to explore the exotic lifestyle and culture of local Nepalese peoples.

After Khayer Lake our return leads back into the main trail at Tadapani and Ghandruk large village of Gurung where a short walk and drive end this wonderful adventure at Pokhara with grand memories of the adventure on Kopra Danda Trek.

You can become a participant to observe and feel what it means to live in secluded, high mountain regions. You can exchange your life experiences and gain life-changing motivations from them. Through Mountain Magic Treks in Khopra Danda Trek, you will have a quiet, peaceful, and fresh trek experience.

A Tea House is a combination of a guest house, restaurant, and social hang out. A private room is available in most tea houses, except for high altitudes ones where it will be just dormitories.
