Helambu Trek is one of the most popular treks for trekkers in Langtang region. Mountain Magic Treks offers the best cost (price) and itinerary for 5 to 7 days of this circuit. You can start this trek from Melamchi Bazar which is about 60 km or Sundarijal which is 26 km from Kathmandu from either side. Located in the northeast of Kathmandu, it extends from the north of Tararang to the tree line of Gosaikund Lake and the lower slopes of Jugal Himal. There we come across several highland Tamang and Sherpa villages scattered on both sides of the Melamchi river.
Helambu Short Trekking varies according to the wishes of the clients and we can design the itinerary as per our client's request. The Langtang Valley is known as the "Valley of Ice". The view of the mountains here is beautiful. On both sides of the valley the mountains rise, towering into the sky.
The valley offers pine forests, slow flowing rivers and rapid mountain streams. , rugged rock and snow-capped peaks, grassy bottoms, and meadows scattered with daisies and wild primulas. In the upper part of the valley, there are snow bridges spanning angry precipices, high passes shrouded in mist, small lakes with icebergs coating them. and water of crystalline luster. The trek is relatively easy because the altitudes are low, between 800m and 3600m, offering less climbing and warmer temperatures.
Before planning a Helambu 5 day trek, here are some important tips to make your trek easy and enjoyable.
Helambu Trek Route

The Helambu trek starts from Sundarijal, where there is a small dam and a hydroelectric station. It takes an hour's journey from Kathmandu. The trek passes through dense mountainous timberland and some amazing rice fields and various amazing Buddhist monasteries. Helambu trek will be one of the amazing treks for any trekker. The scenery of Langtang area touched my heart.
The most important advantage of this trek is that this area is less crowded and noise free as compared to some parts of Annapurna trek and Everest trek. Apart from this, the trek offers a wide range of culture and scenic views. Helambu short trek is the best short trek near Kathmandu valley. Despite being so close to Kathmandu, the Helambu region is relatively undeveloped.
Apart from the Hyolmo culture of the high mountain people, green rhododendron and bamboo forests, majestic waterfalls, and the snow-capped Himalayas make the trek one of the most diverse treks near Kathmandu. The great Himalayan scenery and monasteries bordering Tibet make a trip to this region an exciting experience.

During this trek you will usually have breakfast and dinner at the same Lodge, Lunch will be eaten at one of the trail side restaurants on route.
A Tea House is a combination of a guest house, restaurant, and social hang out. A private room is available in most tea houses, except for high altitudes ones where it will be just dormitories. The Lodges are fairly basic. The room is spare with twin beds and very little additional furniture. Blankets are generally provided. There is a large dining hall warmed by the Bukhara stove (an iron cylinder, fitted with a chimney duct, in which a log fire is lighted. There is normally no electric lighting in the room unless the village has hydroelectric power. The dining room usually has solar lighting.

Whilst some individuals seek to summit the greatest mountain on earth, it is enough for most mere mortals to simply stand at the base and experience the awesome stature of Langtang from below. However, there are no comfortable roads but it works if you want to drive. Into the Langtang Himal Trekking every person seeking to view the incredible mountain up close will need to trek through the Langtang Valley from Syabrubesi to Kyanjin Gompa and back again - unless, of course, you can afford a helicopter!. The journey usually takes several weeks and can sometimes seem a little daunting to a novice hiker. But don't panic, it's very achievable!
The first thing to make clear is that the Langtang Himal Trekking requires no technical climbing and is essentially a long hike. We therefore strongly believe that anyone with determination and a basic fitness level can trek the route - and all of our successful clients attest to this!. We have seen overweight, underweight, old and young do this trek and all of them enjoyed it thoroughly.
That being said, there are a number of crucial factors to consider prior to trekking the route such as length, altitude, and training that will help you determine whether you think the Langtang Himal Trekking route is the right trek for you.

During this time, the weather is pleasant with efficient sunlight and warmth. The sky is clear which means that you can truly enjoy the remarkable Nepalese landscape complete with the Himalayan vista.
During the monsoon (June-August) although there will be no problem with trekking, the issue could be of less visibility and rain. But for a keen botanist, monsoon is a blessing as the higher valleys, mountains, and meadows blossom with flowers and abundant vegetation. You can trek in winter (December, January, and February) as well especially in the hilly regions but as you reach higher elevations it is much colder with snowfall. If you don’t necessarily enjoy crowds, trekking during the monsoon or winter or choosing a more solitary trekking destination could be your options. Note that due to global warming there has been a change in the regular climate worldwide and Nepal is no exception. Please be open to unpredictable weather conditions as well

The weather depending upon the season of trekking in Langtang Himalayan belts, where's Langtang Trek can be visited all the time of the year, however, monsoon months of July to mid-September will be wet but much greener with heavy moistures.

As the trek leads higher above 4,000 m temperature drops in the shade as well in the morning and night time, the day will be clear with strong sunlight and UV (due to drop in oxygen and air pressure on high elevation) , where you need strong sunscreen to avoid sunburn in direct sunlight. Mid-September to December will be the clearest weather but with a short day’s minimum of -05 to -10 degree Celsius in the morning and night time with a maximum of 15-20 degrees during the day in full sunlight, also depends upon the altitude and areas of trekking.
December to March will be the coldest months with chances of snows with a minimum of -10 to -15 degree Celsius with a maximum of 15-18 degrees Celsius without wind chill factor, however, most of the day time will be clear with fine blue sky.
