Langtang Valley Trek: "Leave the crowds behind you on this fascinating exploration of Nepal's finest Langtang Valley." Mountain Magic Treks will guide you every step of the way from the gates of Kathmandu to the breathtaking heights of Kyanjin Gompa. Our exciting eight-day itinerary will introduce you to ornate monasteries, tranquil riverside trails, and the forested range of mountains known as the Langtang Mountains.
Trekking to the Rich Facts of Langtang Valley: When international tourists visit Nepal to trek through the lush Himalayan forests, they often overlook the Langtang Valley as it leads to the world-famous Khumbu region and the summit of the mighty Mount Everest.
Trekkers looking for a more accessible adventure can also consider the equally fascinating trek to Annapurna Base Camp.
But did you know that there is another area between these two popular hiking trails?
Welcome to the Langtang Valley Trek: a world of towering peaks, mysterious forests, bucolic mountain villages, and breathtaking scenery everywhere you look.
Best of all, the Langtang Valley is located a few miles north of Kathmandu. This makes it one of the best options in Nepal for visitors who want to do an authentic Himalayan trek at the right time.
The Langtang Valley Trek Itinerary by Mountain Magic Treks has been developed to showcase the best of this extraordinarily beautiful region with the high-altitude peaks of the Langtang mountain range.
Our Langtang Trekking Package will also introduce you to the wild landscape of Langtang National Park, where you can spot lovable wildlife like Musk Deer, Himalayan Tahr or Red Panda roaming among the dense forest foliage.
Particularly keen-eyed hikers may even find evidence of the exceptionally rare snow leopard as we move from the tropical lowlands to the alpine heights of the Langtang Valley.
During this climb, you will also meet Nepali people from three different ethnic groups of Tamang, Newari and Sherpa. These friendly villagers will proudly introduce you to their culture, which is deeply influenced by the Tibetan Buddhism that flourished here in the heart of the Himalayas.
The trek towards Langtang Valley is still an undiscovered gem compared to its more popular counterparts. This means that the breathtaking scenery, picturesque communities, and winding trails decorated with Buddhist prayer flags and chortens will not be crowded with other travelers even during peak trekking season.
This gives Langtang Valley Nepal a decidedly intrepid atmosphere, making it the perfect choice for travelers who want to escape the crowds and engage with the Himalayan wilderness on their own terms.
Of course, you can count on your experienced guide from Mountain Magic Treks Treks to show you the way and lend a helping hand when the going gets tough. We have been conducting safe and exciting trekking tours in the Himalayas for many years - and we hope we will have the pleasure of hosting you as our next customer. This Langtang Valley trek will be led by a highly experienced local determined guide who will be able to share the local culture and mountain history first hand.
On this guided Langtang trek, we will also provide you with food, accommodation, transportation, and all necessary permits to enter Langtang National Park.
Apart from the beautiful scenery and friendly locals, Langtang Valley's best feature is its accessibility from Kathmandu.
Our eight-day Langtang Valley hike itinerary begins with a scenic drive from the capital city to the trailhead in Syabrubesi, skipping expensive commercial flights and overnight transfers.
Each day of our trek in the Langtang Valley brings you past charming villages, farm terraces and lush forests of pine and bamboo. We will also climb to an altitude of around 5,000 meters to enjoy panoramic mountain views from the Buddhist community of Kenjin Gompa.
On the day of our visit, we climb Tserku Ri (4985 m) or Kyanjing Ri (4,780 m). If time permits, we are allowed to climb both peaks to soak up the spectacular 360-degree views of the Himalayas on this trek including the mysterious mountain. Langtang Lirung (7,2455 m), Dorje Lakpa Himal (6,999 m), Yala Peak (5535 m), Ganesh Himal etc.
However, this hike is a moderately difficult physical challenge, and it is possible to experience Acute Mountain Sickness, or AMS, on this itinerary. Regular cardiovascular exercise, such as running or walking, is important to prepare for your trek.
Your guide from Mountain Magic Treks has plenty of experience in these mountains and will be there to make sure you don't overexert yourself on this ten-day itinerary. Yes, trekkers must have registered Langtnag National Park Permit and TIMS (Trekkers Management System) Trekking Permits and all these are supported and provided by Mountain Magic Treks – all included in our package program.

Many buses leave Kathmandu for Dhunche and Sibruveshi every day. Machhapokhari is the morning bus boarding point. Moreover, there are also microbe services, but they are small in size and very small. You have two different options, but the bus is much better.
Langtang 8 days trek is an easy to moderate trek. Not as difficult as other trekking routes in Nepal such as Everest region trek, Manaslu region trek, or Annapurna region trek. You can do it if you are just fit. If you are trekking for the first time, I think Langtang is the place to enjoy the magical high mountain view.
This trek offers magnificent views, cultural aromas, and easy walking trails. However, it is an easy trek so people of all ages including children and students can make it easy.
No, you do not need a guide for the Langtang trek as it is not a restricted area.
At your choice, you can decide, you want a guide or you trek alone without a guide. Langtang trek is not as easy as other popular treks in Nepal. There are many small trails through the dense alpine forest so, you can easily lose the trails, having a guide or porters with you helps a lot to make your wonderful trek. you feel safe,
You will get more authentic information, and you will not miss the trails so it is recommended to hire a local guide or porter for a beautiful trip to Nepal.
No, you cannot find an ATM on the way. Even if you don't get money exchange service en route, so; You should prepare your budget from Kathmandu.
There are tea shops and lodges along the routes in the Langtang area. In this trek, you may have a private room but not much with facilities, but in the room, you will get a clean bed, tea table, private twin shared bedroom, space to keep your luggage, etc. Almost all lodges do not offer en-suite bathrooms, but there will be shared bathrooms and hot showers.
Hiring trekking guides through a local travel agency is a very common way to trek in Langtang and throughout Nepal. Similarly, the salary of a guide varies according to everyone's knowledge and experience, but the cost of hiring a guide ranges from US$30 to US$50 per day for trekking in the Langtang area. But if you pay a deposit to the agency they will include your guide and porters.
Each travel agency will charge you different prices but 30 US for a guide and 20 US for a porter per day is a reasonable price.

Yes, you can charge your electronic devices en route. Only a few lodges have solar panels, still, you can charge them. Lodge owners may charge a small amount if you use their charging service.
As the Langtang region is geographically remote and very high alpine, Wi-Fi is not available in every corner of the region. However, few lodges on the Langtang trek provide Wi-Fi service.
Climbing above 3000 meters can give you mountain sickness but this area is not a risk zone for mountain sickness.
However, keep in your mind that this is definitely a mountainous area where you have to climb above 3,000 meters which means that the chances of getting Acute Mountain Sickness (AMS) are low. If you have any symptoms, you should share them with your guide and groups because every trekker reacts differently to altitude mountain sickness.
Well, trekking in the Himalayas is an adventure in itself so you never know. I think it is better to buy insurance before starting the trek to Langtang Valley. Insurance is not mandatory but you can get natural calamity, food poisoning, accident, emergency treatment so you better buy insurance for Langtang trekking.
If it’s too much to carry from your home country some of the necessary equipment can be hired or bought in Kathmandu around Thamel as well.
Most of the equipment is general and standard lists for all seasons while on trek, but may differ as per the season and duration of trekking and areas of your chosen trip.
Langtang Valley trekking is possible at any time of the year. But autumn and spring are actually the best seasons to go on a Langtang Valley trek. Autumn falls between September and November, promising clear mountain views, blue skies, and comfortable weather.
If you prefer to travel during the spring months of February to May, you will be rewarded with the sight of brilliantly blooming rhododendrons on the alpine slopes of the Langtang Valley.
Nepal's annual monsoon in the months between June and August brings heat and heavy rain to the valley, but intrepid travelers will enjoy the mysterious mist-shrouded atmosphere and relative solitude of the trails at this time of year.
Although it is possible to trek the Langtang Valley in winter, deep snow can close the high mountain pass on this particular route. If you are traveling to the region in winter, we recommend the lower altitude Helambu Circuit Trek or the Tamang Heritage Trail.
As always, you can rely on the experts at Mountain Magic Treks to put together an incredible trekking itinerary any time of the year.

Hiking in the Langtang valley - excellent guide and professional Rewatis team!
This was our first time to Nepal and since we are not trekkers at all, we chose to book with Mountain Magic Treks based on all their great reviews. We did the Langtang valley trek, 8 days in total with 6 days of trekking. Communication was clear and professional from the outset, and before setting off we were reassured that we were in good hands and that we shouldn't have to puzzle over and possibly risk choosing from the multitude of trekking agencies in Kathmandu. The time this saves should not be underestimated either; more hours for you to explore the city once you arrive!
We were met at the airport and taken to our hotel by a representative which was a nice touch. The next day we met Rewati and our guide Rajesh in the city to discuss the trip together, ask questions and stock up on recommended gear etc. before leaving the next morning - helpful. Rajesh was a fantastic guide from the start, speaking excellent English and managing all of our trips to and from Kathmandu while ensuring we were well fed and comfortable along the way. During the trek itself, his balance between setting the pace, giving us time and space, and sharing great conversations and jokes was a pleasure. Special mention to its thermos bottle of tea and cookies, and fresh fruit after dinner! The amount of walking and climbing was really tough, but his approach was always supportive and attentive, keeping a watchful eye on us as we made our way up and checking that everything was okay.
His accommodation choices were all excellent and we appreciated the private bathrooms as we went along the walk/higher and cooler - he is also a 'foodie' so would also consider places with good home cooking, which meant we ate very well. Having a guide was truly the best decision we made to make this first trek smooth, learn about Nepal from a local, and feel safe.
If you choose from treks we can definitely recommend Langtang as a challenging and beautiful route - I think it's a more off the beaten track and really remote route compared to Annapurna for example, while helping affected communities by the earthquake. The variety of scenery is amazing and the 2 night stay in Kyanjin right next to the Langtang mountains is just amazing.
Part of the bus ride to Syrapru Besi is a bit of an endurance test but well worth it! We won't hesitate to recommend the Mountain Magic Treks team, and thank you Rajesh, for all the laughs, dal bhat and omelet chapatis :)
Enjoy the popular trekking and tour packages in Nepal Himalayas. 2024.
