Trip Overview:

The 12 day Annapurna Base Camp Trek is the most popular and comfortable trekking route in the Annapurna region. This is the second most popular trekking destination in Nepal. This trek's high altitude is only 4130m, and it is suitable for all age-old trekkers and travelers. The Annapurna Base Camp Trek leads to the fabulous high mountain amphitheater, also known as Annapurna Base Camp. The trek route passes through many varied climatic conditions, from subtropical to alpine. Thus, inevitably, the vegetation changes accordingly, giving trekkers a wonderful variety of flora and fauna. You will meet many different ethnic groups—it is rather like trekking through a live, open museum. You will experience some of the diverse but equally friendly people and cultures in the Annapurna region of Nepal.

Annapurna Base Camp Trek takes 12 days and starts from Nayapul, which is 1,100 m. Then you walk along the Bhurungdi Khola (river) while gradually ascending through the beautiful varied landscape of cultivated terraced fields and lust forest of oaks, magnolia, rhododendron, and bamboo trees. The third day of trekking begins with an early morning hike up to Poon Hill (3,210m). It will give you the best possible panoramic sunrise view of the whole popular Annapurna and Dhaulagiri Himalayan ranges. This hike also allows time for proper acclimatization on the way to Annapurna Base Camp. The combination of tiny thatched-roof villages set among the narrow terraced fields with the backdrop of stunning snow-capped mountain ranges makes it one of the most picturesque treks in the Annapurna Himalayas.

The ABC trek continues towards Annapurna Base Camp following the beautiful green Modi Khola river. The valley is surrounded by towering peaks and sheer high rock walls, with gushing sparkling waterfalls cascading down into the roaring river below. We ascend to the fascinating Machhapuchhare Base Camp. Beyond that, the valley widens as it reaches the lateral moraine of the Annapurna South glacier, with several mountains. The mountain views are simply breathtaking. Himchuli (6,479m), Annapurna South (7,219m), Annapurna I (8,109m), Annapurna III (7,555m), Gangapurna (7,454m), and Macchapuchhare (Fishtail) (6,997m) complete a beautiful panoramic view. A further gradual climb up the steady mountains, you reach Annapurna Base Camp. A vast and spectacular natural alpine amphitheater in the spellbound surroundings of the Annapurna sanctuary.

The 12 day Annapurna Base Camp Trek is a true venture, taking you towards the glistering peaks, snowfields, and glaciers of an unforgettable Himalayan paradise. As we head back towards Nayapul, following the same route from Annapurna Base Camp, with a great view of the low ABC Himalayan region. On the way back, we will enjoy the natural hot springs in Jhinu Danda. The ABC trek concludes the next day of enjoying the hot springs. This is one of the most popular place in the Annapurna region for trekkers and travelers.

ABC Trek is best experienced in the fall (September, October, and November), spring (March, April, and May), and early winter (December). The autumn season has a tranquil, vivid blue sky with a moderate temperature and some of the greatest Hindu festivals. The spring season has bewildering Rhododendron forest blossoms. Trekking in the winter rewards you with a less crowded environment, but prepare yourself with proper packing and good health. 12 day Annapurna Base Camp Trek is possible to accomplish with normal physical fitness. We have seen small kids to very old trekkers. The Annapurna Base Camp Trek difficulty is considered a moderate adventure.
